Ramshackle Dwelling in Lei Yue Mun 鯉魚門寮屋
Sketchbook: Moleskine watercolour notebook 210x130 mm
Tools: Sakura Pigma 0.8mm , Winsor & Newton artist watercolor
Ramshackle dwellings are kind of vernacular architecture, squatting on hillside by the immigrants after the second world war. They usually made of scrap wood and corrugated iron. Although the structures were illegally built, these dwellings had effectively solved the problem of housing demand during the rapid population growth in 1940s to 1950s.
